It all began with a single hotel, and nowadays there are over 100 in 42 countries, and for the first time, we had the opportunity to experience one of them. Luxury in every detail, rooms designed for comfort and relaxation, elegant common areas, decoration inspired by the local country, attentive staff to please you, and extras that make up for a memorable stay, it’s what you find in a Four Seasons Hotel.
Our first Four Seasons Hotel experience was in Casablanca, Morocco. The hotel is located at the famous area of La Corniche, right next to the beach, with a relaxed atmosphere to spend quality time in the country’s largest city, and within 10-minute drive to the center. We have stayed in 5 star hotels before, but didn’t know what to expect before our arrival. Curious? Keep reading.
Arrival
After arriving from Marrakech by train, we went straight to the hotel, and were glad we could do an early check-in. From the main door to the reception, politeness and friendliness. Our check-in experience was smooth, and the receptionist was very helpful by recommending us what to do in Casablanca, and offering to book us a table at Rick’s Café.
When we opened the door to our room, we already felt pampered with the warm welcome. On the table, fresh flowers, fruits, sweets, juice, water, and cold homemade mint tea was waiting for us with a hand written message from the manager. There is nothing like feeling welcome, especially when you’re having your worst day of a cold, which was my case.
The room
We stayed in a Premier Suite, literally larger than our apartment in Munich. There was a living room, a balcony with partial ocean view, a powder room, an enormous room with a king size bed, a dream closet, and the most incredible bathroom I’ve ever seen. Of course, we couldn’t resist the bathtub.
More than a suite, everything about it was carefully thought of. There is a safe suitable for laptops, bedside charging outlets, private water closet, Fragonard toiletries, a variety of Moroccan tea, the possibility of customizing your mattress toper and hypoallergenic bedding upon request, double vanity, two flat screen TVs with the guests’ names, and a TV in the bathroom’s mirror, because, why not?
The facilities and services
The pampering doesn’t stop in the room, the Four Seasons Hotel Casablanca offers a beautiful garden with a tempting outdoor swimming pool, private cabanas and the Latitude 33 pool lounge. A fitness center is also at your disposal, with high tech equipment and even yoga classes twice a week.
Is dining with a view what you want? The hotel’s restaurant, Bleu, is the answer. Don’t feel like eating out? In-room dining is an option 24 hours a day. For those in need to slow down and relax, the spa has treatments for everyone, even for teens and kids, and also offers Moroccan treatments, like the traditional Hammam and a Signature Anti Jet Lag Hammam. Doesn’t it sound like heaven?
The hotel also has private cars and drivers to take you anywhere around Casablanca, laundry services, twice a day housekeeping, and soon will be working together with the iconic Rick’s Café to combine reservation and transportation from door to door.
The highlights
– The pampered welcome
– The bathtub
– The dreamy bed
– The breakfast: particularly the pancakes and smoothies.
What’s missing
The hotel’s liquor license is still pending, hopefully they will get it soon (I will keep you updated).
What we thought
The only thing I hear people complaining about big luxury hotels is impersonality, but this was not our case. We felt like every staff we spoke or interacted with, remembered us and were always kind, the sales manager made sure to greet us (and other guests too) at the breakfast, and how kind to have a hand written welcome message in your hotel room? We arrived excited and left wanting to stay longer, how couldn’t we? So yes, we loved our first Four Seasons experience!
We were guests of the Four Seasons Hotel Casablanca in October 2016. As always, views and opinions are our own, and we only recommend what we like and believe our readers will like too.
