You know those places that are always a good idea to eat at, whether you are good or bad mood, hungry or not? For some it might be the pizza place around the corner, for others might even be Mc Donalds, for me is Arte in Tavola, a little Italian restaurant that I am very happy to have discovered a few years ago here in Munich.

Arte in Tavola is a very cosy place located in the Schwabing neighborhood. It is not a fancy place, and the price is not outrageous. It is simply the kind of restaurant you like to come in any occasion, to feel welcome and not to worry about what you order, because everything on their menu is simply delicious.

I have been there over 10 times, in all seasons of the year, with friends, in couples, with W. I have always felt welcome and somehow at home. The staff already knows us, and even the kind of wine we like. It is no secret for them that I love it there, and can’t stay away for long. Arte in Tavola is nonetheless my special place to eat in Munich, my favourite restaurant in town.

The owner is an authentic Italian who is always happy to come by your table and suggest the wine. The food is always freshly made and yummy, and the ambience is inviting and romantic, where it is possible to sit outside depending on the season and weather.

Last time I had dinner there, I made sure to take a few shots, and share with you why I love this place. For starters, a must is to order their pizza bread, which is a bit addicting, so be make sure to save some space for the main course, and of course, a glass of wine.

Apart from the à la carte menu they also have a menu of the day. This time I ordered a linguine with filet di manzo (beef), tomato sauce and grated parmegiano cheese.

And W ordered a Wildschwein Sanglier (penne with wild pig and parmegiano cheese).

Every dish I have ordered so far was amazing, but my favourite one is their pasta vongole, with mussels, white wine and parsley. This photo was taken another time when I was there.

As dessert, this time I ordered a simple panna cotta with wild red berries and a touch of lemon. Amazing!

I have previously mentioned Arte in Tavola when I shared my favourite places to eat and drink in Munich of 2014. I honestly hesitated when recommending it, since it’s my secret place, but since I have, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

The restaurant opens for lunch and dinner, and since it is a small place, you better make a reservation just in case, especially during summer.
